Bharat Business: billing and distribution that keeps working when the internet doesn't
Shops around us were running on paper notebooks and WhatsApp screenshots. Ready-made software was too expensive, too complicated, or built for somewhere else. So we built our own.
The problem
A kirana counter or a wholesale godown is noisy, busy and often offline. Owners need a bill in seconds, stock they can trust, and to know who owes them money. Salesmen in the field need to take orders without a signal.
What we built
- Retail mode for shops: fast billing, stock, credit and payments
- Distribution mode for FMCG dealers: salesmen, routes, orders and delivery
- Location-wise teams and roles from owner to salesman
- GST invoices shared on WhatsApp as PDF
- Local database first, quiet background sync
How it's built
Native Android in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, a local database on the device, and a cloud backend for sync and backups. The same approach we use for client apps.
